VENT WINDOW SEALS
Most vent window rubber for older vehicles is difficult to locate. Only
the most popular vehicle types are available. Prices usually begin at $100 per pair, but
can cost much more, depending on the difficulty to reproduce. We reproduce some vent
window seals, for which we already have molds. To make new patterns, we must have both
right and left side seals, removed from their frames, and somewhat intact. Upon inspection
we respond with cost and estimated turn-around time. The customer should be aware that
vent window molds are difficult to make, and therefore production is sometimes costly.
This applies predominantly to front and rear swing-out type vent windows. Fixed rear
quarter windows are easier to make, although new extrusion tooling may be necessary. If
you are in need of fixed window rubber, send us a pattern of the glass or frame to which
the rubber is applied and a cross-section of the rubber. Upon receipt we will quote costs.
In all cases where rubber samples or parts are sent to us, we contact the customer with
complete costs first. If the prices are satisfactory, we initiate production. If the job
is declined, we return the original parts when requested to do so.
Karr Rubber Manufacturing has a catalog of most of the rubber extrusions (sponge and
dense rubber) available. We also supply running board rubber for some of the older
vehicles, provided it can be extruded. We do not recreate any molded running boards.
Our machine shop can manufacture extrusion dies and related tooling. Our mold makers
can create many difficult molded rubber parts and some plastic parts. We can also supply
vinyl-covered flexible metal trims called pinch welds ((U-channels and U-channels with
sponge rubber bulbs attached) which are often used as door and trunk seals. We can
reproduce some bellows shapes, fuel tank grommets, various door bumpers, firewall plugs,
pads, mats, U-jambs, vertical quarter seals, and molded gaskets. When you need a quote
send us an example of the part you want.
