KARR RUBBER MANUFACTURING

EXTRUDED RUBBER PARTSAlthough we have thousands of extrusion dies, we do not have them all. The auto manufacturers produce a very limited number of after-market parts, both extruded and molded in order to help create economic obsolescence of vehicles (and sell new product). As vehicles age the profiles used get harder to find. Part of our objective is to attempt to fill that void. When seeking extrusions send us slices showing complete profiles (cross-sections). Tell us how many feet you need. We will check our die inventory and quote prices. When certain profiles are not yet made we will quote die tooling costs as well as footage prices. Dense rubber dies generally range from $100 to $200. As we do not warehouse rubber, we must produce it at the time of the order. Consequently, we have a ten foot minimum order on our extrusions. Sponge rubber shapes are more limited in availability due to tooling costs and methods of manufacture. Let us know your specific need. Send us a profile sample. When exact shapes are not available we may recommend similar examples or quote tooling costs and footage prices for more precise extrusions. Tooling to make sponge rubber extrusions is more costly than tooling for dense rubber. Dies range from $400 and up. Production time for new shapes can be as much as six weeks, and in some cases longer.
